Horizontal transport

Horizontal terminal transport is the move of containers between the STS and the stacking area. Equipment for horizontal transport include trucks, trailers, straddle carriers, AGV’s, reachstackers. In view of the continuously growing container traffic, automation is increasingly important, in particular in countries where high wage costs make it imperative to find efficient solutions for inter-terminal container transport.
