I am trying to get information regarding low noise container port equipment, most likely electrically powered etc. It's the actual noise data that I'm after.
Any ideas?

Author Thread: Martin Nodar Port equipment noise Posted: Tuesday, November 04, 2008 8:49 AM (CCST) Dear Mike, In these days peoples work quality is becoming an important issue. If you want some information you could look for some law that rules the maximum noise level able to work in your country. Some manufacturers as Noell and Kalmar have fuel/electric (hybrid) Straddle Carriers models. This equipments for sure produce less noise emission than others that work only with a fuel motor. To give you some information: Port machinery should not emit noise higher than 75dBA but in reality this doesn´t happens. In a terminal you probably will find around 90 dB (but not every where). Some port machinery specify that inside the drivers cab the noise level is less than 75dBA. I hope this information helps you Martín
